Environment

At George IV we aim to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay while doing our best to minimise the environmental impact of our activities.

Some of the steps we have taken to reduce our impact are:
. sourcing our electricity from renewable sources only;
. buying food locally without the need of transport;
. using local suppliers where possible, for example lift and boiler maintenance;
. reducing and recycling waste;
. using organic, free range or fair trade produce whenever possible;
. fitting low energy light bulbs where possible;
. using environmentally-friendly cleaning products;
. fitting thermostatic radiator valves;
. using 250mm thick loft insulation;
. continuous monitoring of energy and water usage to identify where improvements can be made.
